Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized the importance of staying dedicated to his leadership and focusing on securing the APC governorship nomination on April 20, 2024, aiming for a victory in the gubernatorial election on November 16, 2024.

130 Crown Obas Back Governor Aiyedatiwa

In a significant move ahead of the APC primary in Ondo State, 130 crown Obas have endorsed Governor Aiyedatiwa as their favored candidate.

Oba Samuel Olumide Adeoye, the Molokun of Atijere kingdom and chairman of the 130 crown Obas, announced their support during a visit to the governor's office, advocating for the governor in the upcoming primary and general elections.

The traditional rulers presented a list of requests, including a 5% allocation from local government funds, vehicles for better mobility, regular grading of Obas, healthcare assistance for ailing Obas, and more direct control over their staff for disciplinary purposes.

Governor Aiyedatiwa assured the Obas that their demands were being considered, with a decision on the 5% allocation expected within a week. He also pledged to provide vehicles in phases and agreed to give traditional rulers direct oversight of their staff.

The governor confirmed his commitment to reviewing and actioning periodic upgrades for the Obas as needed and mentioned ongoing support to the agricultural sector, which would also benefit land-owning traditional rulers. Furthermore, he committed to offering healthcare services to any sick Obas, emphasizing his administration’s dedication to supporting their welfare and the community’s progress.
